I bought a tablet! A Wacom Volito 2 A6-size. So now, I've just got to play around with it to get used to it. You're not going to see art done with it, though.

I've recently found out that blogs and journals are supposed to be updated at times when you have absolutely nothing new to report.

So, I've been turning 19 yesterday for quite some time now, so I thought it was about time for an update.

I have few things to say, but one major thing is this: Yay! It's been vacation time for a while now!

So, now that's off my chest, here is a thing I thought of just before.

Emote stuff
I've been making a few emotes in my time, not many of them have been uploaded here on dA, but I've made quite a few. I have made a few -long- animations with some, and some very short animations, but mostly they are just a base with different expressions. For my latest little set of emotes I have used a base I made based on a tutorial somewhere here on dA. Sadly, I have not yet found my "own" shading style (but I am working on it). But to me, the shading and colouring of emotes is not really interesting, in fact I find it tedious and boring coming up with my "style".

No, where emotes are interesting is when it come to expressions. And I believe that it is more in the expressions than in shading and colouring that "emotestyle" is defined. So, unique shading does not really mean that much to me, as long as I can get to make the facial expressions that I like, and be as inventive as possible when it comes to that.

Often I will be sitting idly just doodling (with my Staedtler Triplus Fineliner, which is awesome) and coming up with a new kind of smile, a fresh pair of eyes or a strange or weird-looking mouth, and think, 'Hey, this expression would look great on an emote.' Then, I will usually go on the computer - which in these most awesome vacation times is almost always on - fire up Paint Shop Pro 7 and play with making the expression into an actual emote either until I get tired of it, have to do something else, or get it to look perfect.

So, I might have made a near carbon copy of someone else's shading style, but I define what is my emotes with the faces, eyes and mouth(piece)s.

This is wrong, I know, I have basically stolen someone else's work, and build upon it to claim it as my own, and I hate when other people steal artwork only to claim it as their own. That is why I am working on my own way to shade emotes, which is also why I have not uploaded emotes for a while now.

My fellow emoteers, I salute thee. That actually got me thinking - we need a musketeer emote called The Emoteer. Also, emoteer would be a rad name for all the emoting people out there.
Actually it is one of my old ideas that I recently found a note about in my old notebook when cleaning. I never did it, but maybe someone will pick up the idea and do it.

Write stuff
I have been thinking of beginning to write again. I have been writing a lot back in the days, but lately I have not. Well, that is not entirely true. For 30 days I have - every day - jotted something down - poems mostly, and will upload them to digte.dk. They are all in Danish, however, so I doubt most dAers could read it even if they wanted to.
But, back to the matter at hand - I would like to write serious stuff. Stuff like short stories and longer stories and that kind of thing. This piece, recently given a well-deserved DD, is what got me wanting to do such a thing. It is a brilliant piece, and very short also and I would like to be able to write a thing like that. I told *wordworks that, and she pointed me toward *fotoFRIDAY, which basically is a photo-based writing prompt. A photo is posted every Friday and everybody is challenged to write a poetry or prose piece based on what the photo inspires you to. Yay! That is so awesome! I have been trying to get myself together to write something this week, but so far, I am unsuccessful. I will try again though.

Yesterday, I turned 19.

Quiet and easy day, just relaxing and having fun. No huge party, but a visit from my aunt and uncle.

Next year will be the year of the part'ay! See, I don't see 18 or 19 years as a milestone, but when I have lived for two centuries, now that is special. So I'll probably have a party at that time.

I love holidays! Especially the ones that are not far away from the current time of year. Next week I'll be off from school!

This weekend however, I am going to Funen. Funen is a little island inbetween Jutland and Zealand, and I'm going there to meet up with the people I was on a course with in the fall last year. I so look forward to seeing those people again! I especially hope Michael, Marianne and Chanette will be there. Oh, and Hanne and Ida too. I can't wait!
